SVP CHRISTMAS APPEAL

St Vincent de Paul will take up the annual Christmas Appeal collection at all Masses on the weekend of December 9 10th 2017. St Vincent de Paul thank you for your generous support in the past and look forward to your continued support in the future.

All money collected will be used to relieve financial stress for families locally. St Vincent de Paul is available to assist families who maybe experienci­ng particular financial distress especially in terms of basic necessitie­s. SYMPATHY

Sympathy is extended to the family of the late Colm O’Callaghan Barntown and Douglas Cork, who died recently. Beloved husband of Majella, father of Fionn and Donncha, son of Seán and the late Josephine, brother of Brian and Cian, mother-in-law Kathleen, brothers-in-law, sistersin-law, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Sympathy is also extended to the family of the late John Hayden, Cosher Kilmuckrid­ge, who died recently. Predecease­d by his parents John and Bridget, brothers Jim and Lar and sisters Bridie and Kathleen. Sadly missed by his brother Martin, sisters Molly, Peg, Liz, Nancy and Joan, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews and nieces. RIP Sympathy is also extended to the family of the late Rita Geraghty Ruanmore Kilmuckrid­ge and formerly of Donaghmede Dublin. Sadly missed by her husband Pat, sons Patrick, Ciaran and Dermot, daughters Ingrid and Rita, brothers Frank, Seán and Ray, sisters Betty and Irene, grandchild­ren, great grandchild, in laws, nephews and nieces. RIP Christmas Coffee.

CLOTHES COLLECTION

Kilmuckrid­ge Family Resource Centre are holding a clothes collection on next Monday, December 11. Please drop off bags before 9.30 a.m. Bags can also be dropped before the 11th during opening hours 9 a.m. 5 p.m. Monday Friday. Bingo is played every Thursday in the Crosses Kilmuckrid­ge at 8 p.m. Next Bingo is Thursday, November 30 – jackpot €380. Proceeds to St Mary’s Church Kilmuckrid­ge.

SONGS OF KILMUCKRID­GE

The Kilmuckrid­ge Song Project will present a Book Launch and performanc­e of local traditiona­l songs in Joe and Bridie Hammel’s, at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 10.

The song book entitled ‘Songs of Kilmuckrid­ge (and beyond...)’ will be officially launched while local songs will be performed by a variety of singers including: John Furlong, Maeve Townsend, Senan Lillis, Paul Tobin, Mick Doyle, Rachel Ní Fhaoláin, Éire Ní Fhaoláin, Aileen Lambert and Colm Brennan. Admission is free, all are welcome and refreshmen­ts will be served.

The song book, which has been compiled as a result of the work undertaken by project participan­ts, features 20 songs from songs of local place and local heroes to comedy songs. The book features new songs such as ‘The Ton Team’ recently written by John Furlong about the famous tug o’ war team from Kilmuckrid­ge and a number of others which were in existence as poems but have now been matched with airs to create songs; Henry Dunphy’s Mill, The Hills of Christnast­how, The Harbour and Paddy Big John. The songbook will be officially launched by Cllr Mary Farrell.

The Kilmuckrid­ge Song Project was devised and coordinate­d by traditiona­l singer Aileen Lambert and supported by Kilmuckrid­ge Tidy Towns and Wexford County Council via the Artist-in-the-Community Scheme. BUFFERS ALLEY GAA

Tony Doran Book Signing – Tony Doran will be in attendance in Buffers Alley on Friday night, December 8, to sign copies of his recently launched autobiogra­phy, in conjunctio­n with a club Coffee Evening. Looking forward to good support on the night, with tickets currently in circulatio­n, costing €5.

Adult Club AGM – The adult club’s annual general meeting will take place on Saturday, December 9, at 7.45 p.m. in the clubhouse, all welcome. Club Developmen­t Draw – The November Club Developmen­t Draw will take place in the clubhouse on Thursday night next 30th at 10 p.m. As we approach the end of year and AGM, it would be appreciate­d if everyone could bring their accounts up to date. Good Luck to all in draw.

Fundraisin­g/Social Events – The club is hosting a number of fundraisin­g/social events in the coming weeks. The annual Poker Classic will take place on Wednesday, December 27, in the clubhouse with more details in the coming weeks. The golf classic will take place on Friday, December 29, please book your time with Murt Managan. Tony Doran will once again host his GAA Quiz in the clubhouse on Thursday, January 18.

LINE DANCING

Line Dancing continues in Upton Court (Seán Óg’s) every Monday night new time 7.30 p.m.

CALENDAR

The annual Tidy Towns Calendar is on sale in shops and Cafés in the village. The calendar features photo competitio­n entries from the exhibition held during Easter in the KMH All proceeds from the sale of the calendar will go towards Kilmuckrid­ge Tidy Towns, who will endeavour to keep our village beautiful.

PARENT/BABY/TODDLER

Kilmuckrid­ge Parent, baby and toddler group meets on Tuesday morning 10 a.m. 12.30 p.m. at St Joseph’s National School in the first pre-fab beside the black gate. Hope to see you all for coffee and chats its €3 per family.
