GAA CLUB NOTES

Whether the adult men’s football team are now Leinster champions or runners-up, they have done themselves, the club and the parish proud. The longest playing season we have ever had in the club – from the under-18 Jim Byrne cup which started on January 8, to last Saturday, November 25.

To celebrate the year, every section of both clubs, Tara Rocks, Kilanerin-Ballyfad, Ballynastragh Gaels boys’ football and hurling, plus camogie and ladies’ football, from the under six nurseries to the adult men and ladies, shall be in the Sports hall on Sunday, December 10, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. to be presented with medals, if not already presented, to receive certificates of participation at younger ages, to applaud every age group of every code in the club and to meet the special guests who will be there to present and pose for selfies. It will be a great afternoon, not to be missed by players, parents and everyone in the community to enjoy. There will even be treats for all afterwards.

Our congratulations to Seán Og Whelan, of Ballythomas school, on his marriage last Saturday to Sinéad. The wedding took place in Ballinhassig Co. Cork. Seán Og is one of the reasons the club and school teams have so much to celebrate this year.
