SCHOOL NEWS

The school will host a Christmas Variety Concert on Friday, December 1, in the Courtyard, Ferns at 7 p.m. First Holy Communion will take place on Saturday, April 28, next year.

The school is awaiting a permit to commence a weekly splitthe-pot in an effort to purchase iPads for the school children. If there are any home where iPads, tablets or laptops are not being used the school would appreciate if they would consider donating them to the school for the children.

There is a clothes collection planned to be held in Ballyduff NS on December 4 You can follow school activities on the Facebook page Ballyduff ns parents’ associatio­n. All support would be greatly appreciate­d.

RACKARD LEAGUE

Congratula­tions to the boys from Ballyduff and Ferns, who were victorious in the Rackard league final against Wexford CBS recently. It was a fantastic achievemen­t. Well done also to the girls Rackard league Rionn A semi-finalists. Thanks to everyone who supported them along the way especially the parents, coaches and teachers.

DEVELOPMEN­T GROUP

We had another fantastic year at the Wexford County Council Environmen­tal Awards on Tuesday night bringing home five new awards one of them the North Wexford 2K Clean. Thanks and well done to everyone who supports our work in any way.

Work has already began for next year; the new path is a great job and our director of heritage and preservati­on Mr Connie Rooney is already hard at work on the new wall.

REPAK COMPETITIO­N

Well done to Kate and Erin Doyle, who have won iPads for the school in this year’s’ REPAK Schools Competitio­n. Well done, girls.

TIDY TOWN AWARD

Kate and Michelle Doyle collected our Tidy Town award in Nenagh for the beautiful butterfly sculpture they made for the school earlier in the year. All ideas and help would be very appreciate­d if anyone would like to take part in new projects for the coming year.

CHURCH GATE COLLECTION

The Wexford Branch of Down Syndrome Ireland would like to thank everyone who gave so generously to their recent church gate collection in Ballyduff, Ferns and Clologue, combined amount collected and banked was €618.59. Thanks to the collectors for all their time and help. Every cent will remain in the Wexford branch to be used for the beneit of all the Down Syndrome children and adults.

MOBILE LIBRARY

The library will be in the school car park on November 23 from 11 a.m. to midday.

HOUSE OF STORIES
