TRACTOR RUN

A tractor run, the brainchild of Emma Seabrooke Greene will take place on Sunday, December 10, from Coolfancy to Craanford, registrati­on starts at 1 p.m. in Coolfancy. Refreshmen­ts on arrival in Cooneys, Craanford. Cost €20 per tractor, proceeds towards dressing rooms project and Bray Institute of Further Education camogie club where Emma Seabrooke Greene is currently a student.

COMMUNITY FITNESS

New Year – New You – New Dressing Rooms. The Craanford Dressing Rooms Fundraisin­g Committee is proud to announce ‘Operation TransFORDm­ation’.

Beginning in January, this is an eight-week program of fun events, community togetherne­ss and healthy competitio­n. There will be eight Teams and we are now seeking volunteers for the position of Team Leaders from these areas. Volunteers will encourage their teams to get active, have fun and raise money too. SPLIT-THE-POT

On November 24 the prize of €164 was won by Colm Byrne of Clonamona. His entry was purchased in by his granny Kathleen Kelly at the bingo. Congratula­tions, Colm.

The co-ordinating team for Friday, December 8, is Team 7: Liz Byrne and James Doyle. As a thank you to our loyal supporters we will have a Christmas Hamper added to the prizes for split-the-pot on each of the three Fridays before Christmas: Eighth, December 15 and 22. Good luck everyone.

Radio Mass – Mass on Southeast Radio will be broadcast live from St Patrick’s Church, Craanford on Sunday, December 10, at 10 a.m. Please note change of time for Mass. Music will be provided by our Parish Choir. This is an annual outreach to those who are sick and housebound and a communicat­ion with our exiles abroad who can tune in via the internet. Southeast Radio, the best sound around.

GAA NEWS

Club AGM – Both AGMs took place last weekend. The Coiste and camogie AGMs was held on Saturday evening with Brendan Tobin being returned as chairman and Caroline Kavanagh taking over as secretary, appreciati­on to Edel Redmond for all her commitment and work during her time as secretary. The position of coaching officer is vacant, thanks to Ger Doran for his work over the years in this role.

A word of thanks to all parents for their support to mentors and players during the year. Mick Curran and Noel Kelly remain as camogie officers.

At the adult AGM on Sunday Jimmy Berney and Theresa Kenny remain as chairman and secretary respective­ly, Michael O’Loughlin and Pat Murray stood down as treasurers while Anita Kavanagh was elected as treasurer with Betty Dunbar assisting. All committee members were thanked for their work. The club lotto needs your support, as does underage coaching for our young members, the future of the club is in our hands. If we all help out together we can realise our dreams.
