Mary Rothwell wishes to thank everyone who contributr­ed so generously to the proceeds of her book of prose and verse, ‘autumn Leaves’. €1,920 was presented to St Aidan’s Day Care Centre, Gorey on Friday, November 10.

ST PATRICK’S GAA LOTTO

There was no winner of last week’s jackpot; winning numbers were 4, 11, 14 and 28. Statia Furlong matched three numbers each receive €200. Vouchers winners: Shane and Imelda, Mad Hatters, Ruth Kenny, Quinn Family. Sweets: Noah, Elise and Orla, Jonah and Eli.

WHIST DRIVE RESULTS

Results of whist drive held in hall on Friday night, November 24, Gents; first Cyril Bryan; second – Sadie Mordaunt; third Doris Doyle; Gents Half Time Flo Kavanagh; Ladies first Eithne Kelly; Ladies – second Mary Lee; third Anne Roche; Ladies Half Time Deirdre Bishop Power. Whist drive every Friday night in the hall.

GOLF SOCIETY

The Ballycanew Golf Society AGM will take place on Thursday, December 7, at 8 p.m. in Goslins, Ballycanew. New members welcome.

The Developmen­t Associatio­n are looking to put together a local Directory of Services in the area, from builders, plumbers, etc, to cake makers. If you would like to include your business in our Directory please email aislinn@ medddesign.com This will be free to local business in the area.

FIRST RESPONDERS

Volunteers can still join the Ballycanew Community First Responders. Volunteers will be trained in using a defibrilla­tor and will attend people reporting cardiac arrest, stroke, choking or chest pain while an ambulance is being dispatched.
