MONASEED NS SHOW

Monaseed National School are putting on a Christmas Show in Monaseed Hall on Thursday night December 21, at 7 p.m. All classes are participat­ing. Great door prize. Come along and get into the Christmas spirit. Everyone welcome.

HOLLYFORT LIGHTS

Hollyfort Christmas lights will be switched on at 7 p.m. on Sunday, December 10.

YOUNG AT HEART

The Craanford-Monaseed Hollyfort Young at Heart Christmas party took place in Craanford Community Centre on Sunday, December 3. The party commenced with music by John and Pat Bass. Tommy Carroll followed on with many taking to the floor for some lovely dancing. Afternoon Tea was provided and each party goer was given a present to remember their day by. We thank everyone who contribute­d to or helped in any way to make this day the great success it was. We wish everyone a happy and safe Christmas and good wishes for 2018.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS

Special Olympics Gorey are looking for volunteers, do you have a few hours to help out. Contact Anne Wadding for more informatio­n. Your involvemen­t and contributi­on as a volunteer will help change the lives of our athletes in their local communitie­s across the island of Ireland.

COMMUNITY FITNESS

New Year – New You – New Dressing Rooms. The Craanford Dressing Rooms Fundraisin­g Committee is proud to announce ‘Operation TransFOR Dmation’. Beginning in January, this is an eight-week program of fun events, community togetherne­ss and healthy competitio­n. There will be eight Teams and we are now seeking volunteers for the position of Team Leaders from these areas. Volunteers will encourage their teams to get active, have fun and raise money too. PARENT/TODDLER GROUP

Bingo is played in Craanford Hall every Friday night at 8.30 p.m. Bring a friend; enjoy a night out with a difference and who knows your luck could just be in.

CIRCUIT CLASSES

Circuit classes now on every Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. in Craanford National School gym. FIRST CLASS IS free All levels of fitness men and women welcome. Queries to 087 2414517.

FINCH FITNESS

Keep fit classes in Craanford Sports Complex Mondays and Fridays at 9.15 a.m. Followed by pilates from 10.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.

SPLIT-THE-POT

On December 1 the prize of €182 was won by Phil Breen of Gorey, a regular at the bingo. Congratula­tions, Phil. The co-ordinating team for Friday, December 15, is Team 8: Claire Hyland. As a thank you to our loyal supporters we will have a Christmas Hamper valued at €100 added to the prizes for split-the-pot on each of the three Fridays before Christmas: Eighth, December 15 and 22. Baptism – We welcome into the Christian community of Craanford-Monaseed parish Brooke Jennifer Curran Redmond of Island, who was baptised recently.

Confession­s – Advance Notice for Christmas confession­s December 18 at 7.30 p.m. in Monaseed and at 8 p.m. in Craanford.

Stamps – A reminder to please keep any used stamps and put them in the boxes in the porch of the church in Craanford and Monaseed. They all go to the St Patrick’s Missions Kiltegan and are an invaluable source of income for the missions. If you could leave a little surround on the stamps it would be much appreciate­d.
