CAHORE SWIM

Blow away the cobwebs with a dip in the sea at Cahore Pier at 2 p.m. on New Year’s Day. This is the main annual fundraiser for Cahore Inshore Rescue Service lifeboat. Sponsorship cards are available from Gerry O’Loughlin at 087 2771473. Hot soup, hot whiskeys and more will be served on the pier, and the festivities will continue afterwards in the Strand Bar, Cahore, and the Schooner, Ballygarrett.

BLOTTO DRAW

There was no jackpot winner in last week’s Ballygarrett Réalt na Mara GAA Club blotto draw. The numbers picked were 5, 19, 21 and 22. The €20 luckydip winners were Mick Hughes, Ballyoughna; Fionn Cameron, Killenagh; Seamus and Lisa Dempsey; Benny Ireton, Courtown; M.Byrne, c/o Strand Bar. The five free tickets winner was Geraldine Redmond. This week’s jackpot rose to €13,900.
