SVP COLLECTION THANKS

St Machain’s Conference of Saint Vincent de Paul acknowledg­es the Christmas Appeal Collection taken up on the December 9/10. Total collection €2,560.50 SVDP wish to thank the collectors and all the contributo­rs for their generous support. Christmas will happier for many families, and wish you all a Happy Holy Peaceful Christmas and Good Health, Wealth and Happiness in the New Year.

SONG PROJECT

Kilmuckrid­ge Tidy Towns held the launch of the song project ‘Songs of Kilmuckrid­ge (and beyond...)’ recently in Joe Hammel’s lounge. This project was facilitate­d by Aileen Lambert, traditiona­l singer with support from Tidy Towns and the arts dept of wexford county council. Song books and DVDs are on sale in the Photo Shop and Joe Hammel’s.

SYMPATHY

Sympathy is extended to the family of the late Eleanor Quinn, Cosher, Kilmuckrid­ge, who died recently. Sadly missed by her husband Patsy, daughter Fiona, sons Alan and Niall brother Phelim, grandchild­ren, son-inlaw Paul, daughters-in-law Una and Eimear brothers and sistersin-law nephews and nieces.

CHURCH GATE COLLECTION

The County Wexford Community Workshop, Bellefield, Enniscorth­y are holding their annual church gate collection in Kilmuckrid­ge next weekend Saturday the 30th and Sunday, December 31. Every cent will remain in the workshop to be used for the benefit of all the service users. A permit has been granted by An Garda Síochána, your support would be very greatly appreciate­d.

PLAYGROUND FUNDRAISER

NEW YEAR’S EVE PARTY – in the Upton Court Hotel, Kilmuckrid­ge Music by Theresa and the Stars followed by DJ and late Bar. Tickets €20 including Buffet food and compliment­ary drink at midnight. Door prize is a Midweek break to Kilkenny’s Ormonde Hotel. Tickets on sale from committee members or from Hammel’s Centra A special thank you to Mr John Hammel for donating the proceeds of his Christmas light collection to the playground fund and Trina’s Bistro, who is donating €1 of every main course meal to the fund also.

LIGHTS AT JOHN HAMELLL’S HOUSE – John’s house opposite Centra in the village has lots of Christmas lights on this year, and he has a collection box at the gate and donations will go towards the Kilmuckrid­ge Playground fund.

POKER CLASSIC 2017

This year’s Poker Classic will take place Wednesday, December 27, at 8 p.m. in the Buffers Alley Clubhouse. Tickets, €20, are now on sale from club members and can also be purchased at the door on the night. Refreshmen­ts will be served and the bar will be running promotions for the players on the night. The Door Prize is being kindly sponsored by Hammel’s Centra Kilmuckrid­ge.

Nearly 80 players took part last year with a prize pot of over €1,500. Mick Lacey emerged as the overall winner last year and all the players who made the final table will receive compliment­ary entry. The final placings were Mick Lacey, Tom Byrne, Jack Kavanagh, Larry Murphy, Gavin O’Donovan and David Hughes Snr. Other prize winners were Jim Conroy first poker and Ciaran Fortune had the first straight flush.

LINE DANCING

Line Dancing will re-commence on Monday, January 8, at the news time of 7.30 p.m. in Upton Court (Seán Óg’s).

CHARITY BINGO

Next Bingo in the New Year – jackpot €460. All local charities would like to thank Nicky and Frances, Crosses Kilmuckrid­ge for their support and the use of their premises.

FAMILY CENTRE

The centre will close from the Friday, December 22, to Monday, January 8. For Meals on Wheels, please ring 087 7998670. Staff and management would like to sincerely thank everyone for their support throughout 2017, especially our volunteers who have done trojan work for the centre throughout the year. Wising you all a very safe and happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

CALENDAR

The annual Tidy Towns Calendar is on sale in shops in the village. The calendar features photo competitio­n entries from the exhibition held during Easter in the KMH All proceeds from the sale of the calendar will go towards Kilmuckrid­ge Tidy Towns, who will endeavour to keep our village beautiful.

MEALS ON WHEELS

Meals on Wheels delivers twice every week on Tuesday and Thursday. Spaces are available for new clients in each of the following areas: Kilmuckrid­ge, Ballygarre­tt, Oulart, Monamolin, Blackwater.
