With his wife Bridie they both built their business while rearing a family of six . As the children grew older they all worked at various times in the business, notably Brenda and John. However it was Paschal who showed a talent for watch and clock repair which Jack encouraged and sent him off to study at the Irish, Swiss institute of Horology. Paschal received his diploma in 1984 after three years of studying. He returned to Gorey to work alongside his parents until 1987 where he took a year out to travel and work in North Ryde Sydney, Australia.

He spent nine months developing his skills with Seiko Time Ltd.and another three months in Darwin working with a Scottish watch maker. In oct. 1988 Paschal returned to work his mother after his fathers retirement. In oct. 2007 Whitmore Jewellers launched their second store in Gorey shopping centre and are currently preparing to open a third outlet called Treasures and Trophies. Now sixty years on Paschal with his sister lynda are carrying on their fathers legacy with special guest appearance from his lovely wife Caroline.

Paschal wanted to acknowledge Orla Sommers who completed a fine Jewellers training course in may 2017. Two members of the team shall attend the same course in 2018 which will benefit our customers and stores great when it comes to having detailed knowledge of fine jewellery and diamonds. Also this year Whitmores are refurbishing tgeir new workshop where they will be able to design, alter and repair jewellery. Whitmores celebrated their 60th anniversary in 2017 and look forward to serving their customers for many more years to come. And as Paschal always says

“It’s a family show you know!”
