COLOUR RUN AT GOREY TOWN PARK
ALL the colours of the rainbow were on show in Gorey Town Park on Saturday as the Freedom Fit Colour Run got under way.
Organised by the North Wexford Tourism Group Freedom Fit is the latest festival for Gorey and includes loads of activities, experiences and challenges to suit all ages, interests and lifestyles. Events taking place throughout the festival include walking, running, cycling, classes, workouts, dancing, horse riding, massage, relaxation, mediation, healthy eating, local food demonstrations and children’s activities.
Supported by Gorey Municipal District, Gorey Chamber and the Irish Heart Foundation Freedom Fit is proving very popular and on Saturday 120 people flocked to the town park for the colour run.
Paul Finegan, chairman of the North Wexford Tourism Group said they were delighted with the success of the festival so far.
‘It’s been going great since it was launched last Friday and people are really getting into the spirit of the festival. We have plenty of events still to come including the Night Run, the Rock of Hell, taster bootcamps and Taking The Lead dog walk.
Renowned performance psychologist Niamh Fitzpatrick will speak in Askamore Community Hall, while celebrity chef Domini Kemp will host a cookery demonstration in the Ashdown Park Hotel. Freedom Fit is running until Sunday and there is more information on www.freedomfit. ie, on Facebook and Instagram.
