YOUNG businessman and talented musician Conor Moore has officially opened his studio Sound Out Rhythm Drumming School.

The business started in September 2016, but Conor decided it was time for a premises and opened Sound Out in Tara Hill, beside the National School, in November 2017.

The new company is nothing short of a success. Conor reported bookings are full for the one-on-one drumming lessons, but hopes to introduce group lessons for this year.

Local councillors John Hegarty and Malcolm Byrne cut the ribbon to Conor’s new venture and welcomed the drumming studio to Gorey.

Cllr Byrne spoke about how the school is a platform for enhancing the performing arts in the town and wished Conor the best for the future.

There was great entertainment from Seo Linn, a local band Conor used to play with. ‘I got up and performed a few tracks with them,’ said Conor.

‘I am delighted with the response I have received so far, and would like to thank all who came to the opening and Loch Garman Arms for providing refreshments,’ said Conor.

Conor said he hopes to do drumming workshops for schools, group lessons, and give Bodhran lessons for language schools in the new year.

‘The studio can also be used as a platform for bands,’ said Conor. ‘They can come to record or shoot videos here to try to expand themselves.’
