The wellbeing talk was part of the Operation TransFORDmation challenge, which Craanford, Monaseed and Hollyfort are taking part in.

Ray gave a very honest presentation to the audience, who listened intently. He talked about his own journey that took him from the depths of despair to being chief organiser of ‘Talk to Tom’, which is about saving lives and preventing suicide.

Chairperson of Operation TransFORDmation Patrick Lennon welcomed Ray and thanked him for giving up his time to come and give a talk.

Those gathered were given an outline of how ‘Talk to Tom’ has and continues to train many people with the necessary skills to aid those in need at the most crucial times in their lives.

In particular, Ray spoke about the QPR course offered by the organisation, where people learn to question, persuade and refer – the three simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life.

All services provided by ‘Talk to Tom’ are free however, donations are accepted at the shop on St Michael’s Road in Gorey which helps with the running of the vital services they offer.

Following the presentation, everyone enjoyed the refreshments provided. The committee would like to thank Ray for his presentation.
