Ken Tyner steals the annual show with Belgian Blue heifer
Carnew Mart held their 37th annual fatstock show and sale day of heifers and cows last week.
Champion of the show was won by Ken Tyner from Shillelagh, who had a superb Belgian Blue cross, weighing 848 kg and sold for €2,350 to John Kelly from Waterford.
Price of the day went to Derry Rothwell from Tinahely for a Belgian Blue heifer, weighing 856 kg selling for €2620 to Ballon Meats.
There was 892 cattle and 155 calves on offer, which met a brisk trade with a full clearance. It was a great collection of top quality cattle.
