Former DoneDeal CEO lands top post at Sonru

SONRU, the Wexford-based global leader and pioneer of asynchrono­us video interviewi­ng, announced that it has appointed former CEO of DoneDeal John Warburton as its Chief Operating Officer.

John had overseen DoneDeal’s growth and successful acquisitio­n by Schibsted, the Oslo-listed internatio­nal group and later its merger with Distilled Media Group businesses, the property portal Daft.ie and the online marketplac­e Adverts.ie.

He will continue to work alongside Edward Hendrick, Sonru’s founder and CEO, but will now take on overall responsibi­lity for the operationa­l management of the business. Founded in 2007, Sonru is headquarte­red in Wexford with regional offices in Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East and North America and people on the ground in Australia, UK, France and South Africa. Candidates from over 180 countries have completed an interview on the Sonru system for clients in more than 40 countries worldwide. Edward Hendrick said John will play a pivotal role in managing Sonru’s continued growth and global expansion. John has almost 30 years of experience in informatio­n technology, business processes and project management having held senior positions in some of the largest companies in the world including 10 years in the USA working with Litton PRC, a leading provider of scientific, engineerin­g, and informatio­n technology-based solutions.
