The audience can expect to witness new magical illusions brought to life along with Barry’s unique blend of comedy, mentalism, brain hacking and hypnotism. Do you dare to go alone?. As a universall­y-renowned performer, Barry has toured to all corners of the world and starred in over 40 internatio­nal TV shows. He had a huge hit in the UK with the ITV1 show ‘You’re Back in the Room’. He has appeared on the ‘Ellen DeGeneres Show’, the ‘Jimmy Kimmel Show’ and his own US TV series ‘Deception with Keith Barry’ for the Discovery Channel which is now being show in 110 countries along with his successful 2014 Irish television series ‘Brain Hacker’. 1 CÉILÍ MÓR LOCH GARMAN: Spring into action in 2018 with Céilí Mór Loch Garman at the Talbot Hotel on Saturday, February 17. Organised by the Loch Garman branch of Comhaltas and Wexford Chamber, this event will have you 1-2-3ing and foot-stomping around the room like an old pro in no time. This will be an afternoon of dancing under the watchful eye of ‘caller’ John O’Byrne with music provided by the Wexford Comhaltas house band. The good news is that you don’t need to be an expert dancer as John and his assistants will be on hand to lead (and drag!) you through the steps. Once you have had your fill of scaling ‘The Walls of Limerick’ you can sit back and enjoy a demonstrat­ion of dancing by our guest dancers from the Sullivan Academy of Irish Dancing. Twelfth Night is a tale of unrequited love – hilarious and heartbreak­ing. Two twins are separated in a shipwreck, and forced to fend for themselves in a strange land. The first twin, Viola, falls in love with Orsino, who dotes on OIivia, who falls for Viola but is idolised by Malvolio. Enter Sebastian, who is the spitting image of his twin sister. Call 053 9489570 or email moviesatgo­rey@eircom.net. 7 DOMINI KEMP COOKERY DEMO: As part of the Freedom Fit initiative, Irish chef Domini Kemp will put on a cookery demonstrat­ion in the Ashdown Park Hotel in Gorey on Thursday, February 15, from 7.30 p.m. Domini, who is a food writer, has long been interested in healthy eating, but when diagnosed with cancer she has set off in a whole new direction – nutrientde­nse, low-carb food, and its benefits for overall health. Tickets are €25, and are available from the Ashdown Park Hotel or through the Freedom Fit website, freedomfit.ie Sales partner Advocates for Autism (AFA), a local family support network by parents of children with autism, will receive a €5 contributi­on from each ticket sold. 3 PROOF: Wexford Drama Group will return to Wexford Arts Centre this Thursday, Friday and Saturday night with their production of the award-winning drama ‘Proof’. Premiering on Broadway in 2000, David Auburn’s play won the Drama Desk Award, the Pulitzer Prize and a Tony Award for Best Play. It focuses on Catherine and her struggle with mathematic­al genius and mental illness, following the death of her father Robert, a professor and mathematic­ian at the University of Chicago. When Robert’s exgraduate student Hal discovers a paradigmsh­ifting proof about prime numbers, it brings to light a buried family secret. Directed by Paul Walsh, the play features Phil Lyons, Danielle Reck, Stephen Byrne and Patrice Mcgillycud­dy. 5 MUSICAL SOCIETY ‘BANDAOKE’: Ever tried karaoke? Imagine it with a live band supporting you. New Ross band Trilogy will provide the musical background for your date with stardom at the Theatre Tavern in New Ross on Friday at 10 p.m. There is no admission fee with great prizes to be won on the night. The event is always well supported, with a great supportive atmosphere. Bandaoke is a fundraiser for the musical society’s upcoming 50th production of Top Hat. Based on the Fred Astaire and Ginger Rodgers movie of the same name and with music by the world renowned Irving Berlin, Top Hat brings the glamour of Hollywood’s golden with tap-dancing magic. This show runs from March 5 to March 11. Tickets are now on sale from St Michaels Theatre in New Ross.
