CREACON LODGE Wellness Centre has scooped a silver Best Business Working in the Community award for their service to the area over the past year.

The Local Authorities Members Association (LAMA) All Ireland award was presented to Creacon wellness centre owner Derek O’Neill and business manager Jonathan Keenan at a ceremony in Dublin on Saturday night. New Ross Municipal District and Wexford County Council were shortlisted for Best Heritage Project for St Mary’s Church, where a new path, signage and a new entrance was created over the past year.

Creacon Lodge was awarded for helping the wellness and mental health of the community, helping keep the community positive during the downturn and providing a sanctuary for stressed business owners and employees to recharge and refocus to accomplish their goals. Derek said: ‘When community comes together, everybody wins. We were so pleased that we were shortlisted and deeply honoured to be selected for the silver award. As a thank you to our customers anyone who mentions this awards article, will get free tea and coffee with their meal.’

The centre underwent a €1 million makeover in 2016, expanding its accommodation offering. Established by Derek 11 years ago to offer guests a haven of peace in which to nurture the spirit, mind and body, the centre has been providing treatments and healthy and spiritual courses for people from across the world. Known as a destination for yoga, massage, acupuncture and healthy courses, Creacon Lodge has expanded its focus to feature a new healthy eating, Food is Medicine programme in recent times.
