LITTER PICKING

The Ballagh Community Litter Picking will commence on Saturday, February 24, at 10 a.m. Organisers and volunteers will meet at the Ballagh Community Centre. Litter-pickers, gloves and plastic bags will be provided. Volunteers are needed from all areas so that all roads will be covered. If you would like to take part in the clean-up please turn up on Saturday the 24th at 10 a.m. Remember ‘Many hands make light work’.

SPLIT-THE-POT

It costs just two euro to take part in the Ballagh split-the-pot which benefits the local primary school. Entry envelopes are available in all local businesses: Tim’s Chipper, Caroline’s Hairdressi­ng, Bob’s Bar, Lounge, Shop and Takeaway, The Sawdust, Barry Walsh’s Car Servicing, The Unyoke Cafe, The Trading Post, Angelo’s Takeaway, The post office and Ballaghkee­ne Daybreak. Parents/Guardians may also get entry envelopes in the school office.

UNDERAGE GAA

Membership­s renewal forms are available now for underage camogie and Hurling and our first joint registrati­on night will be on Sunday, February 25, at 7.30 p.m. in Oulart Community Centre. ‘B-FIT’ ACTIVITIES

A huge thank you to everyone who registered for our B-FIT (Lifestyle Transforma­tion) fundraiser on Sunday, February 4. It was wonderful to see so many people from the club and the parish join together on teams and plan to partake in activities over the next six weeks. On Monday nights Walking at the upper pitch from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., on Tuesday nights, Line Dancing in the Hall 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., on Wednesday nights Keep fit class for all levels of fitness, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday mornings walking at the upper pitch at 9, 30 a.m.

The next event for B-FIT will be Obstacle Hill challenge on Sunday morning, February 25. UNDERAGE HURLING

The first underage matches of the year start with the under-13s playing the first round of Cross-County Leinster leagues against Thomas Davis GAA, Co. Dublin at 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday, under lights and the under-15s V Craanford Fr O’Regan’s on Saturday at 2.30 p.m.

SENIOR CAMOGIE

The senior camogie team played their first Leinster League match on Saturday, February 3, against Ballyboden and had a great win, 2-11 one to 1-04. Well done to the new Manager Colin Sunderland and his management team and to all the players. Best of luck in the next match on Saturday, February 17, in Lucan.

CONGRATULA­TIONS

Congratula­tions to Margaret Lacey on receiving volunteer of the Year Award from Kathleen Kehoe Co. camogie secretary and Donnacha Kearns, chairman of the camogie Co. Board on Monday, February 5, in Enniscorth­y. Another well-deserved award for Margaret for all her outstandin­g work.

Congratula­tions also to Sarah O’Dowd on receiving a Special Recognitio­n Award as part of the Wexford camogie for team groups. Both Margaret and Sarah will be travelling to Croke Park on February 17 to receive their awards.
