Stage set for South Leinster drama festival
Gorey Little Theatre will be the centre of attention next month as the 62nd annual South Leinster Drama Festival kicks off.
Local councillor John Hegarty will officially open the festival on the first night. Gorey Little Theatre committee will also present Katie Maeve Williamson with her prize. She was the overall winner in the competition to design a new logo for the Gorey Little Theatre Group.
The nine plays will take place at Gorey Theatre from Thursday, March 1, until Saturday, March 10. The performances begin at 8 p.m. nightly, with the final performance beginning at an earlier time of 7.30 p.m.
Adjudicator this year is Imelda McDonagh from Gorey. Imelda is an award-winning director and actress with a first class Honours MA in Theatre Studies.
