Convicted of drink driving

DAINIS UDRIS, with an address at 1 Pearse Street in Gorey, was convicted of a drink drive offence considered at his local District Court.

‘I am guilty,’ he told Judge John Cheatle in response to the charge laid by Garda Michael Dee alleging that he was over the limit near his home on April 8, 2016.

The court heard that Udris had a previous conviction for a similar offence, dating back to 2011.

The latest conviction came with a fine of €500 and the mandatory three-year disqualification from holding a licence.
