Kilnahue Lane an ongoing frustration for councillors
GOREY Municipal District councillors voiced their increased frustration with Kilnahue Lane at last week’s meeting.
Cathaoirleach of Gorey Municipal District Cllr Joe Sullivan said a footpath needs to be put in as it is a ‘death trap’.
‘This has been brought up month after month, it needs to be done,’ said Cllr Sullivan. ‘This was first brought up in September 2016 and we are now in March 2018 and still nothing done.’
Cllr Fionntán Ó Suilleabháin said it is not just the pavement, but the junction itself as well.
‘If something ever happens there it will be the eight councillors that will be standing in front of the fire, not the engineers,’ said Cllr Sullivan.
Engineer Tony Quirke told the councillors that District Engineer Neville Shaw, who could not be present at the meeting, is working with the landowner in relation to Kilnahue Lane. ‘I am not sure of a time frame for the work,’ added Mr Quirke.
