What Hope and Dream means to Enniscorthy and Gorey Red Cross

-

We have been involved with Hope and Dreams 10 from the beginning, starting with the first launch where we offered our ambulances and volunteers to act as medical cover for the event.

Gladly the offer was accepted. Our volunteers were so impressed with the way the event was organised, we decided to volunteer our services on an annual basis. Our volunteers feel privileged to be part of such a fantastic event in our local community.

Our members attend at 60 or more events throughout the year but are always amazed at the fantastic community spirit and support shown to the Hope and Dreams 10. We have also adopted the Hope Centre as our chosen charity and now cover as many of their fundraising events as we can.

The Red Cross volunteers stay involved because like so many other groups, there are very few of our members who have not been touched by cancer either personally or through a family member or a friend.

Unfortunately the services of the two main charities Hope and Hospice were never more needed in our community, and this event is absolutely vital in funding them into the future.

The hope is that this year the total money raised will reach €1 million, so we look forward to seeing a record number of runners/walkers on April 8 around the streets of Enniscorthy and rest assured that our Red Cross volunteers will be out in force to ensure that the Hope and Dream 10 2018 will be as safe and enjoyable as previous years.

Best of good luck to all participants from the Red Cross
