TOMBRACK SCHOOL

Pupils in second class will make their First Confession on Friday, March 7, at 7 p.m. in Ferns Parish Church. They will receive First Holy Communion on Sunday, April 29, at 11 a.m. in Ferns Parish Church. Pupils in fifth and sixth class will receive the Sacra- ment of Confirmation on Friday, March 16, at 2 p.m. in Ferns Parish Church.

Tombrack NS are holding a fundraising concert in the Courtyard Ferns on Saturday, March 24, at 8 p.m., tickets (€10.00 per adult and €7.00 under-12) are on sale from the school office (Tuesday to Thursday), parents in the school and the parish office. The fundraising is to help with the cost of building an astroturf pitch at the school. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

‘THE JOY OF LOVE’

World Meeting of families takes place from August 21 to August 26 in Dublin and Pope Francis plans to attend. In all our churches we have a Banner and an Icon drawing our attention to this event. At the foot of the Icon are two Latin words ‘Amoris Laetitia’ (‘The joy of Love’).

Our grouping of the three parishes of Bunclody, Ferns and Kilrush are now preparing for the WMF by having a six session period of reflection and discussion on marriage and the family. These will take place in the Parish Pastoral Centre in Bunclody for all three parish areas. They will will continue each Thursday till March 22, excluding March 8 due to a Parish Mission for the three areas.

A full list of talks will be found on the leaflets in all churches. We encourage you to please come along and bring a friend or two. We are family so let us journey together. The Mission for the three parishes will take place from Sunday, March 4, at 7.30 p.m. concluding on Thursday, March 8, at 7.30 p.m. Leaflets will be distributed in the next week with full details.

ACTIVE RETIREMENT

Our monthly meeting will be held on Thursday, March 8, at 2.30 p.m. in the Courtyard. The guest speaker will be Mr Brian Cleary, well known historian. Full details of the annual summer break, from May 28 to June 1 will be given and deposits taken at the meeting. Any query to Colm at 086 3866582.
