A pedestrian was taken to hospital on Friday night with minor injuries following a road traffic accident.

The collision occurred at 8.30 p.m. on Pearse Street, Gorey, outside of the Gorey Little Theatre.

A middle aged woman was brought to Wexford General Hospital by ambulance after being knocked down and sustaining injuries. The male driver, in his 40s, was uninjured and it is believed alcohol was not a factor.

The driver of the car has been interviewed by local gardaí.
