Taoglas hosts future engineers
THE red carpet was rolled out to engineers of the future at Taoglas in Enniscorthy recently as they hosted a special event with Enniscorthy Chamber recently for Engineers Week 2018. The event was aimed at encouraging students from across the county to pursue a career in engineering and a tour of the company which provides antenna solutions for companies all over the world certainly fuelled imaginations.
Students, their teachers and parents were all given the opportunity to explore the exciting world of engineering as well as seeing the opportunities available in the field. Taoglas opened up early and put on a showcase for over 50 students, teachers and parents.
Speaking at the event CEO of Enniscorthy & District Chamber Catriona Murphy said: ‘Engineers Week provides an excellent opportunity to give young people an insight into the lives of engineers and how possible it is to follow in their footsteps to be an engineer of the future. Thanks to Taoglas the students had the opportunity to learn how antenna products make a difference day to day across the world. We also wanted to simply to students the route they can take to work within this global team.’
Similarly Taoglas were delighted to welcome the students and show them around. ‘We were delighted to host this exciting event in our global headquarters,’ said Melanie Golden, Operations Manager at Taoglas. ‘We wished to explain to students how we function and how exciting the engineering career path is. This event showcases to us at Taoglas how relevant engaging with schools in our locality is and proves County Wexford has world class engineering career opportunities to offer to its students.’
Taoglas RF Engineer Baha Badran captivated his audience within the testing chambers and the students learnt how Taoglas are innovatively working with 5G Automotive products, and how 5G will enable an era of connectivity never seen before with a focus on autonomous driving, tactile internet Ultra HD video and VR based immersive technologies. Enniscorthy & District Chamber were delighted with the event and thanked Taoglas, along with the students who took part.
