Pres will complain about missing cup
IT’S THE moment etched into memory, an All-Ireland win, the captain lifts the cup aloft to screams and shouts of delight years in the making as her team-mates engulf their leader. The picture with the cup in the air, dotted with dozens of joyous faces, sits proudly on the wall for years to come.
Not for the girls of the Presentation it won’t.
When it came to the Kodak moment, all that was on offer from the Camogie Association was an ugly box of medals (see photograph). There was no cup.
In another act of abject indifference, the game’s governing body didn’t bother themselves to get the trophy to Carriganore for the Junior
‘B’ final replay on Thursday.
Presentation (Wexford) intend to lodge a formal complaint, like they certainly should.
Unfortunately, it won’t make a jot of difference, as the Camogie Association have shown in their actions the past week that they don’t give a hoot about running the game to an acceptable level.
They couldn’t be bothered getting programmes to Waterford for the Junior ‘A’ schools final the previous week, they boss certain counties around and bend over backwards for others, and they couldn’t care less if a team gets the cup it has worked tirelessly to win over several months.
The Camogie Association was responsible for three games involving Wexford teams last week, and they butchered the handling of all three. Promotion of the game starts at the top and their house is still nowhere near in order and hasn’t been for a long time.
