ST PATRICK’S DAY PARADE

A very successful Parade took place again in Coolgreany on last Saturday, where a very big crowd assembled. The Parade started at the Lower Street and was led off by the Grand Marshall Mrs Molly McDonald, Knockgreany, proudly driven by Pat Kelly in his vintage car followed by the Arklow Pipe Band, then followed by a number of Marching Bands, after which came all the local clubs & groups.

It was then we witnessed up to 30 floats of different sizes and makes, following which was an excellent display of vintage vehicles of many different sizes and shapes, with many home made versions. John Rushe acted as a very capable & exciting MC, and he brought his own version of excellent wit to the atmosphere and had some comments on every float that passed by the reviewing stand.

After the Parade concluded, there was a dash to the river at the Lower Street for the annual Duck Race which always brings the crowds down there.

A big congratulations to everyone who helped to make this Local Parade the success it was again this year. Hats off to all involved.
