FOCUS IRELAND SLEEP OUT
Join Focus Ireland’s first ‘Big Gorey Sleep Out’ on Friday, March 23, in the Methodist Church car park Gorey and raise funds to help support over 3000 children who will be homeless this Easter. Focus Ireland is calling on the people of Wexford to take part in the Big Gorey Sleep out and sleep outside for one night to help change a life and to highlight the issue of homelessness and raise vital funds.
Focus Ireland has been providing homeless services in the South East for 17 years. In 2017 Focus Ireland assisted 33 Wexford families including almost 60 children who were homeless or at risk of homelessness. Funds raised will help provide essential supplies and support to those that need them and help us prevent homelessness. More than ever we need support from the local community and businesses to help us prevent homelessness and make a real and lasting difference to those currently living in emergency accommodation.
If you would like more information please email Cathryn O’Leary, South East Regional Fundraiser at cathryn.oleary@focusireland.ie or call 086 6042854.

HERITAGE ARCHIVE GROUP
Ferns Heritage Archive Group will host a presentation ‘Ferns and District in Historical Context – An Illustrated Lecture’ by Kevin Whelan in Scoil Naomh Maodhog on Thursday, March 22, at 7.30 p.m.
This accessible lecture will be profusely illustrated and will cover the history of Ferns parish, with a particular focus on the period from 1600 to 1800. It will include de- tailed information on over 40 townlands in the parish (from Ballymore and Camolin to Scarawalsh, and from Clobemon to Askinamoe to Effernogue and Monasootha), and will draw on new or little known historical sources. So if you know nothing about the history of Ferns, or know a lot about it, there should be something for everyone in the audience.
