The North Wexford Hospice Nursing Trust committee will cook up a storm at their annual fundraising barbecue.

The much-anticipated event will take place on Saturday, May 12, in the Amber Springs Hotel and a delicious steak supper will be served from 8.30 p.m., until 10.30 p.m.

Singer Tina Carter will take to the stage at 8.30 p.m., followed by more musical entertainment from Theresa and The Stars who will play from 10.30 p.m., until late.

Tickets are €25 with valuable door prizes to be won. They are available from James Tomkins Suzuki Garage, or call 086 2604097.

North Wexford Hospice Nursing Trust plays a big part in helping to maintain their service by hosting two major fundraisers in the year.

One of these is their annual barbecue, which is held every year in The Amber Springs Hotel. Committee member Rosemary Melbourne said it is always a great night and they usually raise about €18,000.

The National Coffee Morning in September is the other major fundraiser that generates funds for the charity.

County Wexford Hospice Homecare Team Ltd was set up in 1990, due to a need for the provision of a home-based palliative care service. North Wexford Hospice Nursing Trust, along with similar groups in Enniscorthy, New Ross, Wexford Town and Bunclody, were set up as a fund raising group to help maintain and improve the existing service.
