OPERATION TRANSFORDM­ATION

The conclusion of this community event took place last weekend when the final event, our 5km race took place, congratula­tions to Peter Kavanagh, who was the first man home while Doreen Kenny was the first lady home.

All runners deserve huge praise for finishing the event. Thank you to Raymond Byrne and his team for all their assistance with the run. It is really appreciate­d. Team B led by Michael Lyons and Donal Kenny won the overall title of OT 2018 champions.

So far a total of €19,680.51 has been raised from this initiative. The official opening of the dressing rooms will take place on Saturday next, May 5, at 8.15 p.m. everyone is asked to attend and see what wonderful facilities our community has.

KIDS MOVIE NIGHT

Monaseed Hall will host a kids movie night on Friday, May 4, at 6 p.m. Entry is €5 which includes popcorn and drink. In aid of Monaseed Community Playground.

COMMUNITY CHILDCARE

The Craanford-Monaseed Community Childcare AGM will take place on Wednesday, May 23, at 8 p.m. in Craanford Community Centre All parents must register kids at AGM for their free ECCE/CCS/CCS Universal places in September 2018.

RUN OR WALK WITH RAY

Why not Run or walk 5km with Ray on Sunday, May 27, at 2 p.m., come on everyone, let’s do it together, a giant effort on everyone’s behalf will see a wonderful family event happen. Refreshmen­ts served afterwards with music and craic in Cooney’s. Huge thanks to Raymond Byrne for all work with this event.

VINTAGE THRESHING

The annual Vintage Threshing will take place in Matt Doyle’s, Carrigbeg, on Sunday, September 2, in aid of friends of Gorey Hospital. Come and see the art of threshing, view machinery used in days gone by, sit with friends and reminisce, refreshmen­ts available on the day. For details call Matt at 086 8489662.

CONGRATULA­TIONS

Congratula­tions to John Bass Tyres Gorey, who won the South East Radio Customer excellence award for ‘Best Tyre Company’ at a gala awards ceremony held last weekend. Best of luck to K& K Windows Ltd, Craanford, who are nominated for the Co Wexford Business awards 2018 in the corporate social responsibi­lity award category. The winners will be announced in late May.

TABLE MISSING FROM HALL

A stainless steel table has been missing from Monaseed hall for a few months. This table is owned by the hall so needs to be returned to the hall as soon as possible please.

PARENT TODDLER GROUP

Next meeting will take place Thursday, May 10, at 10.30 a.m. in Craanford Community Hall. All welcome €3 per family.

SPLIT-THE-POT

On April 20 the prize of €179 was won by Fr Richard Lawless, who purchased his entry in Doyle’s Londis on the Carnew Road Congratula­tions Fr Richard. The co-ordinating team for Friday, May 4, is Team 4: Edel Redmond, Shane Earle and Peadar Whitty.

Collection thanks - Special Olympics Club Gorey would like to thank all who supported their recent church gate collection. More than €150 was raised in Craanford and €130 in Monaseed. Thanks to those who collected on the day.
