PHOTO EXHIBITION
There was a large attendance in Kiltealy Community Hall on Saturday, April 21, for an interesting photo exhibition and information evening. Minister Paul Kehoe and Deputy James Brown were in attendance. Paul Kehoe spoke on how village renewal is bringing new life to rural communities and praised the people of Kiltealy for their tremendous efforts in improving their village.
Members of the various committees spoke on the night giving an outline of achievements to date and planned projects as follows: Shay Bowe – The Park; John Murphy – The Hall; Ger Coleman – Woodwork/digital hub; Mary Bowe – Heritage; Jane Kennedy – Walking Trails. MC on the night parish priest Fr Jim Fegan thanked all the volunteers for their hard work.
The following are the winners of the Walking Trails photo competition: Adults – first Shane O’Neill; second Michael Bates. Primary school – first Róisín Dwyer; second Nicole Cullen. Secondary school – first Ben Holmes; second Michael Murphy. All enjoyed tea and sandwiches afterwards.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
Congratulations to the 11 pupils of Kiltealy NS who received their first Holy Communion in a beautiful ceremony in St Patrick’s Church, Kiltealy on Saturday last. The children are as follows: Michael Baker, Conor Blake, Aimee Bowe, Michael Bowe, Rick Cullen, Molly O’Leary, Lucy Nolan, Orla Pender, Robert Puskars, Anna Smith, Amy Walsh.
BALLINDAGGIN COMMUNION
Pupils from second class Ballindaggin NS will receive their first Holy Communion in St Colman’s Church on Saturday next, May 5, The children and their parents and teachers have been busy preparing for the sacrament and we wish them an enjoyable and memorable day on this important occasion in their lives.
CARDIAC FIRST RESPONSE
Kiltealy Cardiac First Response will hold a family and friends CPR awareness night in Kiltealy Hall on Thursday, May 17, at 7.30 p.m. It will last about an hour. No test no cost involved. Facilitator Bridget Ennis. Registration required, text 087 9419602 to register. Please come along to our informal awareness evening. 70% of cardiac arrest happens in the home.
KILTEALY CELTIC
Congratulations to Kiltealy Celtic soccer team who won the Gwen Jones league recently and had a big celebration in the Thatch, Kiltealy where they filled the cup. Well done to all concerned.
