The Craanford-Monaseed Community Childcare AGM will take place on Wednesday, May 23, at 8 p.m. in Craanford Community Centre All parents must register kids at AGM for their free ECCE/CCS/CCS Universal places in September 2018.

Bingo will be held Craanford Hall every Friday night at 8.30 p.m.

RUNNING/WALK WITH RAY

Why not Run or walk 5km with Ray on Sunday, May 27, at 2 p.m., come on everyone, let’s do it together, a giant effort on everyone’s behalf will see a wonderful family event happen. Refreshmen­ts served afterwards with music and craic in Cooney’s. Huge thanks to Raymond Byrne for all work with this event.

VINTAGE THRESHING

The annual Vintage Threshing will take place in Matt Doyle’s, Carrigbeg, on Sunday, September 2, in aid of friends of Gorey Hospital. Come and see the art of threshing, view machinery used in days gone by, sit with friends and reminisce, refreshmen­ts available on the day. For details call Matt at 086 8489662.

MASS OF HEALING – Our Mass of Healing was postponed as a result of the snow and has been re-scheduled for Pentecost Sunday, May 20, at 10.30 a.m. In this Mass we will pray especially for those who carry the cross of suffering through illness and who are in need of physical, spiritual or emotional healing, help with a relationsh­ip problem or help to forgive. Some people never get the opportunit­y to visit us for Sunday Mass through incapacity but who would be able to do so on a once off annual basis if they had support from their families or neighbours. I encourage people to bring elderly or suffering family members or friends to the church for this Mass. Refreshmen­ts will be served in the church porch after Mass.

COLLECTION THANKS

Thank you to all who contribute­d to the church gate collection taken up in Craanford last weekend in Aid of St Patrick’s Special School, Enniscorth­y. The total amount collected was €223.60. Your generosity is much appreciate­d.

BARBECUE

On Sunday, June 3, we will have our annual Mass for Success in Exams. This year, in preparatio­n for the World Meeting of families we will hold a parish barbecue in the yard behind the Parochial House immediatel­y after the 10.30 a.m. Mass. We invite all parish families to consider joining us, especially families with Exam candidates. There will be free burgers, refreshmen­ts and fun. We encourage the young people to plan their studies well ahead so as to be able to spend a little time that morning with their own and their parish family as they enter into exam season.

BALLYFAD ICA

To celebrate 50 years of Ballyfad ICA the guild are organising a four-day tour of Donegal from Tuesday, June 19, to Friday, June 22, staying in the Villa Rose Hotel in Ballybofey. Attraction­s to visit include St Mel’s Cathedral, Doagh Famine Village, WB Yeats Grave and Drumcliffe Church Glenveigh National Park, Glemcolomc­ille Folk Village. Admission to all attraction­s in included in the overall price.
