The winner of this week’s splitthe-pot drawn in the Boro Inn was Anna Codd, Rathnure. The pot was €260, envelopes available in various business outlets, and a winner drawn every Monday night.
COMMUNITY GAMES
Congratulations to the Bree-Davidstown Community Games Debating team from Davidstown NS which won the Co Debating Final last Thursday night. Members of the team are Michael Roche, Shane Jordan, Gavin O’Connor and David O’Leary. They defeated Crossabeg NS opposing the motion that ‘Vending machines should be banned in schools’. This team has now qualified for the national finals in Limerick at the end of this month. Team manager is Clare Doyle.
Matty Murphy, Kereight will also represent Bree-Davidstown in Limerick in the under-eight National Art Finals as well as Oisin Harte (under-10 Art), Roisa Fraser and Cillian Swan (under-eight Swimming), Ruairi Swan (under-10 Swimming) and Eva Bailey (under-12 Swimming).

TOMBRACK SCHOOL
Our second fundraiser ‘Sponsor a Sod’ is currently ongoing and lines can be bought from the school or from any parent. The draw will take place on Friday, June 8, at the official opening of our new astroturf pitch.On Sunday, June 17, the school will host a 5k walk/fun run, starting at the castle in Ferns at 11 a.m. Registration for the 5k will be in Ferns school hall from 9 a.m. on the day. Couch to 5K is ongoing on Monday and Friday nights at 7.30 p.m. in Ferns GAA pitch for anyone wishing to get ready to walk, jog or run our 5K Bottles for field day.
Ferns parish council are currently collecting bottles for our forthcoming field day on Sunday, June 3. Your support and help greatly appreciated.

CARDIAC FIRST RESPONSE
Kiltealy Cardiac First Response will hold a family and friends CPR awareness night in Kiltealy Hall on Thursday, May 17, at 7.30 p.m. It will last about an hour. No test no cost involved. BOIL WATER NOTICE
People on Kiltealy public water scheme received a boil water notice over two weeks ago and up to time of writing there is still no information on when the water supply will be back to normal. It’s causing extreme hardship especially for families with young children. Irish Water along with Wexford County Council has stated that they are waiting for test samples to be returned from the HSE and EPA and no timeframe can be given as to when the notice will be lifted.
BOOK LAUNCH
You are invited to the book launch of ‘Blackstairs Mountain Springmount and Surroundings’ by Myles Kavanagh at Killanne Hall tomorrow evening, Wednesday, May 9, at 8 p.m. The book will be launched by Bishop Denis Brennan. MC Gloria Binnions. The book takes a glimpse in the eras and places of ancestors under the Blackstairs Mountains covering Templeudigan, Rathnure, Killanne, Springmount and Kiltealy. A limited number of books will be for sale on the night.

KILTEALY SCHOOL
Kiltealy NS will be having a clothes recycle on Monday morning, May 28, The shelter will be open the previous week during school hours to facilitate dropping off of clothes. No pillows or duvets allowed.
