Drawing on his two latest books, John Bowman traces the evidence of how women’s lives were transformed in twentieth century Ireland.
As author of ‘Window and Mirror; RTE Television, 19612011’ and, more recently, ‘Ireland: The Autobiography: one hundred years of Irish life told by its people’, John examines how an authoritarian, censorious male elite found themselves increasingly marginalised as women’s lib set the agenda.
Librarian Hazel Percival said the School held each year in Gorey gives an opportunity to reflect on our historical past.
