FIRST RESPONDERS

Ballycanew First Responders was formed in 2016 and became active in July 2017. During that time all volunteers were trained in providing a community first response service to any 999 calls in our area for chest pain, stroke, choking and cardiac arrest. Our aim is to train as many people in how to provide CPR and use a defibrillator. We hope in the future to have a defibrillator in every estate, we hope to work together with you to make this a reality.

We are starting community training courses in the future. A course takes about an hour and will be held in the village in the evening. The cost will be free. We would like you to nominate at least 10 people who would be willing to undergo this training for your estate by the end of May.

We hope you will come on board with this initiative. If you have any queries or want to find out more you can contact Leona Kehoe 087 2757110 or email leona.kehoe1@gmail.com or Olive Furney olivefurney@hotmail.com.
