Ambulance called for woman at beach

-

AN elderly woman got into some difficulty at Courtown Beach on Saturday afternoon after going for a swim in the sea.

The woman was brought away in an ambulance after she collapsed on the beach on return from her dip in the water.

Water Safety Development Officer of Wexford County Council Tom Doyle said she got in for a swim and when she returned she felt numb on one side of her body. ‘She lay down on the beach and our lifeguards attended to her and made sure she was comfortable,’ said Mr Doyle. ‘They called an ambulance and the paramedics came down to her and she was brought off.’
