GAA CLUB NOTES

Another very busy week for the club. Just about every age group were playing. There were good wins for the under-16 girls’ football in Ballygarrett, the under-20 hurlers over Buffers/Ballygarrett and a tough draw earned by the under-17 footballers with Bunclody/Marshalstown. Boys under-11, girls under-12 and under-14 all had games over the weekend.

The adult men were busy over the weekend also, with the second football team in the league semi-final v Volunteers and the first Hurling team in Shamrocks.

But the highlight of club activity over the weekend were the under-14 boys’ football team who were representing Wexford in Division 3 of the National Féile. Like the camogie girls Féile three weeks ago, these are memories that will remain for ever.

Congratulations to Enda McDonald and PJ Gethings, who represented the club at half time in Croke park when they received a prize of playing gear sponsored by BEKO kitchen appliances. With a little licence, both can now claim to have played in a Leinster final in Croke park.

There was no jackpot winner in the club lotto draw on June 18. There were three match-three winners. The numbers were 3, 11, 13 and 24. The next two draws take place on July 2 and 16. The jackpot is now at €4,900.
