VINTAGE CLUB

The Coolgreany first Vintage Day will be held in Coolgreany on Sunday, September 9, plans for the day are advancing well so far, and it is hoped to have a very big response on the day with Vintage Cars and Tractors of all vintage years on exhibit, the plan is to have Auto Jumble stalls and Vintage Dress also.

Entertainm­ent on the field will be provided by Stacey Breen with her lovely versions of old Country and Western Music.

All exhibits and Trade Stands must be on the field by midday, and all vehicles must have their own insurance. For further informatio­n Contact Seán 087 2076335, Geraldine 087 2038213, Alan 085 7299468.

GYMKHANA

The annual Coolgreany Gymkhana will be held in Coolgreany on Sunday, September 23, in Coolgreany, and plans are advancing favourably for that day, which is always very worth – while with some lovely Trophies and Cups to be won, and also some very good prizes in the Dog Show section.

SCOIL ÍOSAGÁIN

The parents’ associatio­n would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported our Family Fun Day in Coolgreany last Sunday. Every year we are overwhelme­d with the generosity of all our sponsors and we really appreciate your support.

Thanks to all those who bought raffle tickets, those who helped out in an any way and to those who came on the day. It was a fantastic afternoon for all the family and some great memories were made.

SPECIAL OLYMPIAN

Congratula­tions to Caroline Cullen, Plattinsto­wn, who took home two medals for Team Leinster at the National Special Olympics games which took place at the National Sports Campus in Blanchards­town on June 15. Caroline was cheered on by her proud mother Mary, family and friends and the fantastic team from St Aidan’s Services on the day.

TIDY TOWNS

The local community are making a very big effort to clean all roads around the village in preparatio­n for the Tidy Towns Competitio­ns Judging which will start around early June. It is with all the local support that better results can be achieved when the adjudicati­on is completed, and the committee are appealing for more help to keep the work going, and for all householde­rs to make a big effort in front of their own homes over the next number of weeks.

2K CLEAN-UP

Congratula­tions to Maureen Kelly, who received a Gold Star for her efforts with the Local 2K Clean-Up for the village, Congratula­tions also to Marian Byrne, who received a Gold Star for her great work in the Croghan View area with the 2K Clean-Up.

HANDBALL LOTTO

Coolgreany Handball lotto now stands at €5,800, lotto tickets are available in Jim Short’s, Coolgreany post office, O’Rafferty’s. and Liam Clare Snr. A new prize format is now in place, with seven lucky dips worth €30 each and one Seller’s prize. One lucky Seller Winner last week: Damian Kelly Coolgreany. Your weekly support is very much appreciate­d by the club.

COLLECTION THANKS

friends of Local People with Multiple Sclerosis North Wexford/South Wicklow wish to thank all those who contribute­d to their church gate collection at Johnstown Church a few weeks ago. The amount collected was €171.41 for which we are very grateful.
