Congratulations to Clonegal National School girls’ basketball team after being crowned winners of the Carlow Interschool Basketball Competition 2018. The finals were held on Friday, June 15, in Bagenalstown VEC the Clonegal girls were in the final against Kildavin NS There were both fifth and sixth class girls on the team and each player did their very best. At 10 seconds to go, Clonegal girls were ahead by one basket when Kildavin girls came back and scored. The game went to three minutes extra time where the Clonegal girls gave everything and won by three points at full time. The team were welcomed back to the school with a very warm reception. Congratulations to all involved.
