Camolin lights will be back in action this month
There was some much-needed good news on Friday with the announcement that the pedestrian lights in Camolin will become operational once again by the end of the month.
It is believed the new lights on the Main Street will be a complete upgrade and will be installed in approximately three weeks time.
Local councillor Anthony Donohoe, who has been determined to get the lights back running, welcomed the news as it was a serious health and safety issue in the village.
‘Three months without lights on a busy road is unacceptable,’ added Cllr Donohoe.
Also commenting on the great news is Wexford TD James Browne, who said he was concerned about the health and safety hazard for the elderly community in Camolin.
‘I’m glad that the new traffic lights are on order,’ said Mr Browne. ‘The traffic lights are much-needed to allow people to cross this very busy section of the N11.’
The lights outside of Jack Taverns Pub had been previously fixed in December by Wexford County Council when they were knocked off by ex-hurricane Ophelia that hit Ireland in November.
