Woman caught shoplifting
A DUBLIN woman who shoplifted from a Courtown supermarket while seven months pregnant has been given a chance to stay out of trouble by Judge Kevin Staunton.
Annalise Maughan (21) of 3 Nutgrove Crescent, Rathfarnham, was heavily pregnant when she stole groceries valued at €15.96 from Brooks’ Supermarket on May 9 of 2016.
The property was subsequently recovered and solicitor Lana Doherty said her client wished to apologise. She had no previous convictions and had not come to any garda attention since.
Upon hearing this, Judge Staunton opted to adjourn the case for twelve months and if Maughan continued to be of good behaviour, the matter would be struck out.
