SOUTH EAST COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL.

Some of Ireland’s best known Country music names will take part in this year’s festival which runs at the Bannow Rathangan Showground in Killag. Running from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. acts include: Mike Denver and his band, along with Jimmy Buckley, Cliona Hagan, Gerry Gutheris, Lee Matthews and the Conquerors show band. There will be free on site parking, a full bar, and food. Children under-12 are free with an adult.

With a massive fanbase right across the country as a result of his hilarious skit videos ranging on every topic from local GAA club characters to the Irish abroad, Rory will have you in stitches and a great night is guaranteed. Wexford’s Art In the Open brings artists from all over to the county for Europe’s largest annual plein air painting festival. Demonstrat­ions, workshops, master classes, paint-outs will take place all around the county. CAROREIGH FIELD DAY

The 50th Caroreigh field day will kick off at 1.30 p.m. with a fancy dress and vintage parade led by the New Ross and District Pipe Band. All the usual stalls will be up and running, some have been there for the 50 years. There will be a tug of war competitio­n made of teams from areas in the half parish. The usual Grand Draw will be held, tickets should be with parishione­rs by now.

#Enniscorth­y Rockin’ Food Festival. Rightly regarded as one of the best festivals in the South East, the streets of Enniscorth­y will once again come to life as the Rockin’ Food Festival takes over the town with mouth watering food and hip-swivelling rock’n’ roll from August 3 to August 6. Join Green Road at Wexford Arts Centre at 8 p.m. for a night of foot-tapping Irish Folk and Trad music. This is the first of a seven-night series that will welcome a guest musician each night. The first guest will be Donal Clancy. Green Road features musicians who have played with Riverdance, on TV shows in Ireland, on radio shows in the UK and US, and for presidents and prime ministers.

US musician Kate McGrew moved from New York to Cork in 2008 and quickly gained notoriety as Lady Grew, writing and performing vocals for dancehall reggae/hip-hop tunes, releasing EPs, and has written two comedy musicals. She had performed at clubs and festivals in Ireland, the UK, Germany, Australia and America. Support on the night is from Cursed Murphy V Bloco Gorman.
