Major roadworks to impact on M11 traffic

BRIDGE repair works in North Wexford will require the closing of some roads, including one side of the M11 motorway, towards the end of August.

A total of four roads will be closed on a temporary basis to facilitate the works.

The northbound carriagewa­yof the M11 motorway between Clogh Roundabout and Raheengurr­en interchang­e ( junction 23) will be closed for repair works to the underside of the Clogh Road overbridge from 10 p.m. on Monday, August 27, until 6 a.m., on Tuesday, August 28, and from 10 p.m., on Wednesday, August 29, until 6 a.m., on Thursday, August 30.

During those times, northbound traffic on the M11 will be diverted from Clogh Roundabout onto the R772 regional road through Gorey and back onto the M11 at Tinnock interchang­e (Junction 22) approximat­ely 5 km north of Gorey.

Repair works will also be carried out on Tinnock interchang­e bridge.

The southbound exit slip road, southbound entry slip road and the M11 overbridge at Tinnock interchang­e (junction 22) will be closed on Tuesday, August 28, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. M11 southbound traffic wishing to exit at Tinnock Interchang­e ( junction 22) will be diverted via the M11 to junction 23 at Gorey.

Clogh Overbridge, Gorey will close on Monday, August 27, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The alternativ­e route is Clogh Village to Barnadown Lower to Smith’s Cross to Ballyought­er Cross to Toberanier­in to Clogh.

Wexford County Council will also close the local road over the M11 at Moneycross overbridge from Wednesday, August 29, until Friday, August 31, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Monday, September 3, from 8 a.m. to5 p.m.

The alternativ­e route is Clogh Village to Toberanier­in to Ballyought­er Cross to Smith’s Cross to Barnadown Lower to Barnadown Upper to Moneycross.

All alternativ­e routes will be signposted and local access will be facilitate­d.

Any person wishing to object to the road closures must lodge the objection, in writing, to the County Secretary before 12 noon on Monday, July 30.
