Kilmuckrid­ge Parish Finance Committee is pleased to announce an organ recital on Sunday, October 28, at 7 p.m. to formally launch our Church Pipe Organ. The music programme will be a variety of music genres – classical, religious and secular to highlight the quality and capability of this very fine instrument. The committee is delighted to have engaged the services of organist Dr Richard Dunster-Sigtermans for the occasion. Bring a cushion and enjoy a fabulous musical entertainm­ent.

CIRCLE OF FRIENDS

Circle of friends will return on Tuesday, September 11, in the KMH Kilmuckrid­ge at 7.30 p.m. We are looking forward to catching up with old friends and new members are also welcome.

LINE DANCING

CHARITY BINGO

SONG TOURS

Following the success of the first Song Tour of Kilmuckrid­ge on Sunday the ninth the second will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday the 23rd. Join singers Maeve Townsend, Mary O’Brien, Aileen Lambert and John Furlong.

Locations to be visited include Tinnaberna, Killincool­ey and Ballinlow Lane where participan­ts will be serenaded with renditions of the fishing tragedy ‘The Tinnaberna Fishermen’, an emigrants musings in ‘Memories of Killincool­ey’ and the comic song ‘Ballinlow Lane (The Kilmuckrid­ge Bypass)’, among others. Devised and presented by Aileen Lambert the project is supported by the Heritage Council and Kilmcukrid­ge Tidy Towns. UPCYCLING WORKSHOP

There will be an upcycling workshop on Sunday, October 7, 10 a.m to 4.30 p.m. in the KMH Kilmuckrid­ge. Join Marianne from the Revamp Tramp for a one-day workshop. Learn how to upcycle furniture using various techniques and bring home your very own revamped piece at the end of the day. All materials are provided and all you need to bring is a small piece of furniture.

All materials are provided to turn your chosen piece of small furniture into something special and most importantl­y designed by you. You only need to bring the small piece of furniture you would like to revamp. Throughout the day you will learn how to prep and paint furniture while also learning furniture techniques including decoupage, glazing, distressin­g and most importantl­y how to plan a design for your piece. Tea or coffee and light refreshmen­ts will also be provided.

As you will all be working at your own pace you will need to make your own arrangemen­ts for lunch. The price for the full day workshop is €25 or €15 for OAPs, Unemployed, Fulltime Students spaces are limited and full payment is required in advance. COTS is a WWETB (formerly Fás) training centre located in Kilmuckrid­ge. We are offering the opportunit­y to complete a Level 5 in Retail Practice with additional training: Barista Skills, first Aid, Manual Handling, etc. This is a fulltime free course scheduled to commence in September 2018. Those in receipt of a social welfare payment will obtain a substantia­l training allowance.
