The committee are at present planning a Vintage Car and Tractor Drive on Sunday, October 28. Plans are already in progress for another such Vintage Day as was held on September 8, 2019, which we hope will be bigger and better than our first venture in 2018.

GOOD WISHES

We send good wishes to everyone in our Local Community, who are ill in hospital or convalesci­ng at home at present, and hope they have a speedy recovery to full health.

BIRTHDAYS

We send birthday wishes to Lucy Russell, Croghan View, who celebrated her seventh birthday on September 24; also birthday greetings to Georgia Kelly, Main Street, who will celebrate her sixth birthday on September 28. Birthday greetings also to Nolan Byrne, Colorado, USA and Croghan View, Coolgreany, who will celebrate his 10th birthday on next Saturday, September 29, in America.

GAA CLUB NEWS

Well done to the senior footballer­s who progress to the semi-final v St Martin’s on Sunday the 30th in Wexford park at 3 p.m. The second team were defeated by Naomh Eanna’s First team in their quarter final. Both adult Hurling teams had their quarter finals on Saturday the 22nd/Sunday the 23rd. See sports pages for results.

Well done too to the under-16 camogie team who beat Glynn in the semi-final and await a date for the final. Congratula­tions to Róisín Hughes and Tara O’Connor, who played for Wexford in the under-14 camogie all-Ireland.

The season has finished, or almost finished, for underage teams, under-six to under-18. Another busy year. There will be a celebratio­n and presentati­ons afternoon organised for late in October, by when all teams will have finished their seasons.

There was no jackpot winner in the recent lotto draw. There was one match-three winner who wins €200. The numbers were 5, 13, 26 and 28. Next two draws are on the 24th and eighth. The jackpot is now at €5,500.

CARDDRIVE

45 Card Drive will take place on Tuesday, September 25, at 9 p.m. in Murphy’s Pub Kilanerin. Proceeds in aid of Kilanerin parish funds. Raffle on the night. Please support.

WHIST

First lady was Nancy Forde, second lady was Peg McDonald, third lady was Breda O’Connor and half time lady was shared by May Murphy and Peg Kennedy. First gent was Bernie Walsh, second gent was Pat Whelan, third gent was shared by Keith Bailey and David Tomkins and half time gent was Micheál Murphy. Raffle winners were Lil Kavanagh, Donal Kavanagh and Peg McDonald. Student winner was Ross Bailey.

KILANERIN ICA

The Pilates Class will be starting on Thursday, September 27, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. €10 per class or six classes for €50 the First class is free contact Bernadette at 087 9407852 to book.

BADMINTON

Badminton started back in the Sports Centre on Monday the 17th Juniors from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. and all others 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Thursday adults 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. cost is €2 juniors and €5 adults.

COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT

Kilanerin CEP Wishes to recruit a Community Worker for Kilanerin Parish. Hours are 19.5 per week. This is a DSP sponsored Community Employment Scheme and applicants must meet DSP qualifying criteria. Contract terms and weekly payment is per DSP conditions for CE schemes.
