Brian Dunbar memorial raises amazing €6,800
A total of 170 shooting enthusiasts gathered for the memorial clay pigeon shoot and fundraiser on Byrne’s land in Banntown last weekend.
Held in the memory of the late Brian Dunbar who sadly passed away earlier this year the event raised more than €6,800 for Beaumont and St Luke’s Hospital.
The idea of the clay pigeon shoot in aid of the two worthy charities was the brainchild of Brian who had organised a lot of work prior to his untimely passing.
Brian’s family, friends, neighbours, Craanford GPA and parish all pulled together to make the day such a success for him. It was indeed a joyous occasion tinged with sadness, but immense pride in what had been achieved.
For Beaumont, the money raised will go towards the relatives rooms in Richmond ICU in memory of Brian. They are very grateful to the family for continuing on Brian’s wish to fundraise for the unit.
All of the participants and volunteers enjoyed the great fun and afterwards they were all treated to refreshments that were supplied.
A huge thank went to Brian’s family, relations, friends, neighbours and the wider community who highly supported the wishes of Brian.
Prizes for the shoot and raffled were kindly donated by local businesses, friends and family.
The organisers would like to give an overall thanks to those who supported the event and gave so willing of their time for it.
