WEXFORD HURLERS MAKE STAR APPEARANCE
The state-of-the-art Creagh College campus was the star attraction in Gorey on Thursday as the school opened its doors to the public for its annual open evening.
Many primary school students and their parents took the opportunity to tour the building and see the impressive facilities. Current Creagh College students gave a wonderful display in subjects such as music, science, PE, home economics and much more.
In his address to those in attendance, acting principal Declan O’Toole outlined the college’s enrolment procedures, reminding prospective students and parents to ensure they have their applications submitted before Friday, October 12, in order to secure one of the 132 spaces available.
As Mr O’Toole addressed those present, he said how lucky they are to have been selected as a pilot school for the introduction of Leaving Certificate PE and Computer Science.
Wexford Senior hurlers Conor McDonald, Paudie Foley and Diarmuid O’Keeffe launched the new GAA Super Games Centre, along with Creagh’s new impressive GAA scholarship programme.
Creagh College first opened its doors with 54 students on September 5, 2011. They moved to the new building in April 2015 and it has now grown to be a 700 pupil school. The school’s first TY programme was established in 2015 and the first Leaving Certificate class graduated last year. Creagh College offers the entire range of Junior and Leaving Cycle subjects. All students, with all kinds of abilities, are welcomed.
