NIGHT OF COMEDY

Coolgreany Amateur Dramatic Society will be presenting a night of comedy at St Mogue’s Hall, Inch from Thursday to Sunday, October 4, to October 7 at 8 p.m., featuring two hilarious one-act plays.

‘Mr Foot’ is an inventive and engaging comedy by Michael Frayn. Directed by Sally Stevens, it features Maggie Murphy and Niall Hunter. This production is Coolgreany’s entry in the all-Ireland One Act Drama Circuit this year.

‘The Kidderminster Affair’ by Alan Ayckbourn is an uproarious farce. Directed by Norah Finn, it features Frank Duffy, Billy Hutchinson, Fiona Cooney O’Gorman and Sheila O’Kelly.

This will be the only opportunity to see these great productions locally in the near future, so don’t miss out on a great night’s entertainment. Tickets will be available at the door or phone 087 2393651 for bookings.

GAA HEALTHY CLUBS

YOGA - with Maura starts Monday, October 8, from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the clubhouse in Castletown. Six-week session €30 to be paid first night. Mixed group. CHAIR YOGA – with a qualified instructor Sarah Dunlea. Very gentle chair yoga great for anyone who wishes to strengthen their joints and improve overall health. At the conclusion of a very busy day the chairman Declan Finn said he was delighted everything went off so well, and he wanted to acknowledge the great support of so many people from all sectors of the community, who helped to make the day such an outstanding success, he said he would also like to thank the many people both young and not so young who attended to prepare the field on the previous evenings, and also for the cleaning up the field afterwards,

Thanks were extended to all the advertisers in the Gymkhana Book, He also acknowledged the great work of the local Macra na Feirme branch, for their great support and for organising the barbecue, Declan extended a special thanks to the people who looked after the Raffle Tickets especially Vera Grogan, Coolgreany, Mary McCarthy, Fortchester, and Noreen Kelly for their great help both on the field and also before the Gymkhana took place and also those who were involved in all the events on the field.

He said it was very important to acknowledge Declan and Oona Merrigan, who so kindly make their field available for the Gymkhana each year without which it not be possible to operate the Gymkhana, and also Gardiner Grain for their great support. Thanks also to the Local Press for their great support each year which was always very welcome, this year we were blessed with a beautiful day for everyone to enjoy a very successful Gymkhana he concluded.

VINTAGE DAY

Following on from the Recently Very Successful Vintage Day in Coolgreany, the organising committee will hold a Vintage Car and Tractor Run from Coolgreany on Sunday, October 28, assembling at 11 a.m. for a midday Sharp start, with a route still be finalised, and all proceeds going to Local Beneficiaries the committee have also fixed their second Vintage Day for Sunday, September 8, 2019.

SYMPATHY

Deepest sympathy is extended to the Jackson families, Moneyribbon and Coolgreany, on the recent death of David Jackson, Croghan View Coolgreany, whose burial took place in Ballyfad Cemetery last Friday after Funeral Mass in Ballyfad Church.

The local community also extend their deepest sympathy to Peig O’Rafferty, O’Rafferty’s Coolgreany, on the recent death of her brother Tom Conroy Coolnaleen, Camolin, whose burial took place in the local cemetery after Mass in Ballyduff Church, Camolin, on last Sunday. RIP.
