GAA CLUB NOTES

No jackpot winner in the lotto draw of the 24th. There was one match-three winner who gets €200. The numbers were 3, 20, 21 and 28. Next draw is on October 8. with a jackpot of €5,600.

The ladies’ football team played their final v Shels on Friday the 28th. The under-16 camogie team had their final on Sunday the 30th. And the senior footballer­s had their semi-final in Wexford park at 3 p.m. on Sunday the 30th. See sports pages for results.

That leaves the under-13 hurlers in their final against Kilrush and the first adult hurling team who play Duffry in their semi-final on Sunday the seventh at 1.30 p.m. in Bellefield. Then it is back to under-20 men’s football and hurling.

Congratula­tions to the Tidy Towns Committee on reaching 300 marks for the first time. Due recognitio­n for all your work. The view of the pitches with the new lighting in place will enhance the village even more.

Team of the week goes to the under-12 camogie girls who won their county final last week. And to think that there were no camogie teams in either clubs at all only 3/4 years ago. Well done to all.

The October meeting will be held on Monday the eighth at 8 p.m. This month competitio­n is your best plant. Pilates is on every Thursday evening from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Kilanerin hall €6 per class.

Kilanerin CEP Wishes to recruit a Community Worker for Kilanerin Parish. Hours are 19.5 per week. This is a DSP sponsored Community Employment Scheme and applicants must meet DSP qualifying criteria.
