KATHLEEN’S RETIREMENT

On the occasion of the retirement of Kathleen Holohan from Clonroche National School after 38 years teaching, a get together will take place in the Cloch Bán on Friday, October 12, at 8.30 p.m. Cloughbawn GAA

The coming weekend will be a busy one for all supporters and players in Cloughbawn starting off on Saturday morning, October 6, at 11 a.m. in St Patrick’s Park, the New Ross Standard under-13 Hurling D4 Final will take place between Cloughbawn and neighbours Davidstown-Courtnacud­dy. This will be followed the Wexford People under-17 Hurling R1 Championsh­ip Final at 12.30 when Cloughbawn will take on Oulart-The Ballagh also in St Patrick’s Park. The semi-final of the Intermedia­te Hurling Championsh­ip will take place later on Saturday at 4.45 p.m. at Innovate Wexford Park against HWH Bunclody.

The death has occured for a former Vice-president of the club Andy Murphy, Ballygalve­rt, Ballywilli­am. We extend our sympathy to his family. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

CAMOGIE CLUB NEWS

Congratula­tions to our under-12 girls who won their county final vs Oylegate-Glenbrien last Saturday in a rainy Wexford Park, Well done to Managers, mentors and parents for all the support throughout the year.

Well done to the under-14 girls playing football with Adamstown, who won their county final on Monday evening against a strong Ballygarre­tt side. Good luck to our minors who play their county semi-final soon – details to be confirmed.

Well done to our intermedia­te ladies who earned their place in a county final beating Oylegate-Glenbrien in a tough encounter on Sunday last. The final will be on Sunday, October 7, v Buffers Alley in Oylegate at 1 p.m. Best of luck, girls.

CE SCHEME

A position exists on the local CE scheme for an Environmen­tal worker for Poulpeasty area. 2.5 days per week for 19.5 hours. Duties include Environmen­tal work, grass cuttings, litter control, spraying, weeding strimming and general maintenanc­e work of Poulpeasty Parish.
