Bree Tidy Towns Committee are happy to announce that they have achieved a very respectabl­e mark of 308, up by three marks from the previous mark. We would like to thank all the people who worked and gave their time to make the village look its best.

BREE ACTIVE RETIREMENT

BREE ICA

The monthly meeting of Bree ICA guild will be held in Bree Community Center on Tuesday night, October 16, at 8 p.m. anyone wishing to be part of our guild would be very welcome to come along on the night and join us.

BREE AC NEWS

Bree AC Outdoor Training has resumed on Mondays and Wednesdays in the lower GAA field from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. for all athletes over eight years of age.

Part 2 of the County Cross Country will be in JFK Park on Sunday, October 14, at midday.

Indoor training will resume on Thursday evenings at a later date.

Three athletes competed in the St Senan’s AC Cross Country recently: under-9 Shane Laffan second 500m, under-10 Lèa Bolger first 600m and Jayden Kenny first 600m. This was brilliant running by all three athletes on a very hilly course.

Best of wishes to all taking part in part two of the County Cross Country on Sunday next, October 14, in JFK Kennedy Park at midday.

SCHOOL PRINCIPAL RETIRES

A mass to mark the occasion of Ms Siobhán Doyle’s retirement from Scoil Eoin Baiste, Galbally will be held in Galbally Church on Thursday October 25, at 7 p.m. Refreshmen­ts will be served afterwards in the school. Fáilte roimh cách. Hour will take place every second Sunday of each month.

DDA COFFEE MORNING

Davidstown Developed Associatio­n are holding a coffee morning on Sunday, October 14, at 11.15 to launch their Davidstown 2019 Calendar.

KILLOWEN AWARD

At Great Taste, the world’s most coveted food awards, 2018 grand finale in London last month, Killowen Farm, The Beeches, Courtnacud­dy took a top honour at prestigiou­s London ceremony with their Greek Style Yogurt with Lemon Curd. Well done.

Davidstown NS have received word from Scoilnet that their our website has been chosen as a Star Site. Scoilnet is the Department of Education and Skills (DES) official portal for Irish education. Congratula­tions to all involved.

PENNY BANK

Davidstown-Courtnacud­dy camogie and ladies’ football club Penny Bank in the band room in Davidstown after Saturday evening Mass. New savers are always welcome.

HARVEST MASS

A word of thanks you to all who supplied fruit, vegetables, and baking, to enhance the harvest Mass alter display. Thanks also to the choir and all who took part in the liturgy. Produce was donated to charity.
